Global Event Medicine is an organization dedicated to the safety of athletes and will be providing medical care at Big South. Visit the sports medicine physicians and certified athletic trainers at the Medical Aid Station, conveniently located among the courts at the George World Congress Center.  They will have medicines, tape, bandages and other medical supplies to serve your needs.  There is no charge for services provided at the Medical Aid Stations.

Global Event Medicine understands that athletes or members of traveling grousp may experience an illness or injury after the games have concluded for the day.  This can be very disruptive to your game and travel plans.  It is no fun to plan a trip, prepare for great competition and find yourself sitting in a hospital emergency department for several hours. In the unfortunate event that this happens to your team, contact us at 913-915-9887. A Global Event Medicine physician will provide care at your hotel. If there is a situation that should be best managed at a hospital emergency department, we can make those arrangements and provide maps to local hospitals.  For services provided at your hotel, there will be a $30.00 fee, cash only.

Global Event Medicine, working with Big South staff, has developed an EVACUATION PLAN. In the event of an evacuation, please follow these procedures:  1) REMAIN CALM 2) LISTEN FOR SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS  3) LEND ASSISTANCE TO DISABLED/ELDERLY 4) EXIT THE BUILDING COMPLETELY  5) STAY CLEAR OF THE FACILITY UNTIL TOLD TO RETURN.  Please discuss this plan with your teams and traveling parties before the tournament. Your safety is our utmost priority. At the DPAC, you will receive further instruction from local emergency response experts.
