Coaches are assigned to only one team with most teams having an assistant coach as well. Randy Dagostino, the Director of Coaches, is nationally recognized as one of the best junior volleyball coaches in the country.

How many tournaments do teams play?

Our 12’s & 13’s teams will participate in 5 tournaments throughout Florida and attend the Big South Qualifier in Atlanta. The 14’s teams will participate in 5 tournaments throughout Florida and attend 2 out of state qualifiers, one being the Big South in Atlanta. The 15’s through 18’s teams will attend 4 tournaments in Florida and 3 out of state events, including Atlanta.

How are teams chaperoned on trips?

The athletes on teams for our 12’s and 13’s all are required to stay with their own parent, or another family on their team. Therefore, the parent is the main chaperone. The coaches for age divisions are responsible to set the plan for team activities but require that there is parent participation. For the older age divisions it is a shared responsibility. The coaches stay at the same hotel, on the same floor right near the girls rooms. The club also recognizes parents that plan to travel to the events as well and asks for their assistance in being another set of eyes. Parents are always welcomed and encouraged to attend any team activity.

Does Tampa Bay only field competitive club teams?

Yes and no.... The primary focus of Tampa Bay Juniors is to develop the competitive athlete. Teams ages 14 and up are geared more for the athlete that is looking not only to refine or perfect their skills, but to compete at the highest level possible. However, in the younger age divisions (12-13) TBJVC still focuses on the critical development of the player and their skills, but the structure of the tournament schedule is much more relaxed.
