Club & Open Division Outline: The CLUB division for each age group is for those teams wishing to earn a bid into the National and/or American Club Division of the USA Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships. The OPEN division of each age group is for those teams wishing to earn a bid into the Open Division of the USA Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships. Teams may choose in which division to register for the Asics®/Tampa Bay’s BIG SOUTH National Qualifier -- competition is somewhat stronger in the Open divisions and entries are limited to a smaller number of teams. (See Charts below)
Entry Fee & Process: The entry fee for the 2005 event is $730.00. Make sure to read the “How to Enter” section for complete details on the entry process.
Bid Allocations: Bids for all division age groups are awarded based on the number of teams entered in that age group. Please refer to USA Volleyball’s Qualifier Manual for complete details on the bid allocation process. Bids do “trickle down” in both Open and Club Divisions. However, the Open Division bids trickle down until all bids awarded to the event have been distributed, while the Club Division bids have restricted distribution to the lowest finish being 4th place.
The chart below outlines the number of bids expected in each age division at the Asics®/Tampa Bay’s BIG SOUTH National Qualifier

**Club divisions at 64 or more teams have two bids - one National and one American. Bids may trickle down as far as the 4th place team
Number of Team Entries: The tournament will accept the minimum number of teams in each age and playing division as required in the USAV Qualifier Manual . The tournament will also accept more teams in each division should the demand arise and other divisions not fill to capacity. However, adjustment to divisions will not be final until the entry deadline date of February 8. Therefore, the event reserves the right to change the number as necessary to accommodate current requests and best serve the needs of the participants. The chart below estimates how many teams Asics®/Tampa Bay’s BIG SOUTH National Qualifier will be able to accept in each division based on venue size and past year’s entries.
