What is club volleyball?
Club volleyball is a highly organized, nationwide competitive volleyball network designed for athletes to refine their volleyball skills, compete at the regional and national level, expose their abilities to collegiate recruiters and train to achieve any development goals they may have for the sport of volleyball.

Tampa Bay Juniors was the first club volleyball program in the state -- 2008 will mark the 24th season for TBJVC. Can the multi-sport athlete play in Tampa Bay Juniors?
Yes, a large number of TBJVC members participate in more than one sport, especially in the younger age divisions.
What is the roster size and number of teams in Tampa Bay Juniors?
Roster sizes vary usually consisting of between 9 and 12 athletes. TBJVC carries around 12 teams a year in age divisions from 12 and under through 18 and under.
Who coaches at Tampa Bay Juniors?
The coaching staff at TBJVC is the best in the region. All of our coaches have previous coaching experience and have received certification from the Florida Region and/or USA Volleyball. Many of our coaches are from previous state high school championship teams such as Berkeley Prep, Durant, and others. We also have coaches participating from tremendous local collegiate programs such as the University of South Florida’s volleyball programs. Coaches are assigned to only one team with most teams having an assistant coach as well. Randy Dagostino, the Director of Coaches, is nationally recognized as one of the best junior volleyball coaches in the country.
When does club volleyball take place?
Practices and competitions for all teams begin in January and go through May. Teams that qualify for the USA Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships will continue through late June/early July.
Where do teams practice?
Tampa Bay currently uses Berkeley Prep and Tampa Prep for practice facilities.
How often do teams practice?
Out of state travel teams practice 3 times a week for a total of 7 hours and in-state travel teams practice 2-3 times a week for a total of 4-6 hours depending on the age group.
What is the difference between a non-travel and a travel team?
Our in-state travel teams will participate in tournaments throughout t Florida. In-state ravel teams do not pay additional monies for tournaments held within Florida, with the exception of the 12 & under and 13 & under teams who are required to stay with their parents in the hotel rooms. These teams will participate in 5 tournaments every season. The in-state travel teams season will likely conclude with the FL Region Championships which are held in late April or early May. Our out of state travel teams participate in tournaments throughout Florida, the Big South Qualifier and 2-3 additional out-of-state tournaments. The out of state travel teams do pay additional fees for the out-of-state events (airfare), and these teams are very likely to extend their club season by qualifying for the Junior Olympics and participating in the AAU National Championships - with the season concluding in early July. The same is true here as above, all 12 & under and 13 & under teams are required to stay with a parent during out of town trips.
Does Tampa Bay only field competitive club teams?
No, Tampa Bay Juniors recognizes that in the younger age divisions (10-14) there is a need for more casual, league based teams. League teams are organized based on demand. Contact the office if you are interested. They practice only once a week and participate in tournaments as their schedule allows.

What does it cost to play?
The annual fees for participation on an in-state travel team are between $1,200.00 and $2,20.00 depending on the age division of the team. Those fees includes training and gym time, AAU and USAV membership, travel and participation to all instate events. Out of state travel teams pay between $1,900.00 and $3,000.00 depending and the age division and includes the same. Travel teams will incur additional fees for other out of state events. Uniform costs are additional for all teams and vary depending on the level of team.
How much are uniforms?
The cost of uniforms varies depending on the team that the athlete is placed. A new member of our club participating on a non-travel team will spend around $200 for uniforms and a new member of a travel team will spend around $450. However....this year, through a sponsorship, the maximum amount any player will pay for uniforms is $150! Many of the items that you purchase initially as a new member to our club can be used in subsequent years. Uniform items include jerseys, spandex, practice uniforms, knee pads, socks, back pack, travel bag - requirements based on the level of team.
